Miya just had one of those days with her pesky twin brother, Hiya. They might be twins but she was, after all, 5 minutes older than her brother, didn't that count for something? She was so tired of being bossed around by her brother. Only she did not mean to tell him to go away and never come back. Well, she wanted him to go away, but only for a little while. Now, she could not find him anywhere.

It was now past dinner and Miya had been looking for Hiya all day. She was really getting worried and thought about the ocean. Hiya was a good swimmer but he was always with other kids when they went swimming. So, Miya decided to head for the beach, hoping her brother had not chosen to go for a swim by himself. Boy, were their parents going to be angry if he was swimming alone. Now, Miya was getting scared and started running towards the beach, thinking about their silly fight and wishing they had talked about their problems just like she did with her friends.

Up ahead was her neighbor's hut and where her brother's best friend lived, maybe she should check there. (kids, you can check there too....run your mouse over the hut). . The only thing Miya could find in the hut was a roaring fire and a dinner that was almost ready. Now, the neighbors were missing too! ''Where was everyone?'' Miya asked.

There was a lake between the neighbor's house and the beach, maybe he had decided to swim there. Miya hurried in the lake's direction, thinking how pleasant a cool dip in the lake would be on such a warm balmy day. Surely, he would be there. When she arrived at the lake, Miya immediately saw that he had not been there. She only saw one thing in the lake.(Do you see what she saw in the lake?)

Miya started running towards the beach hoping everything was alright and her brother had forgiven her for being so mean to him that morning. Miya ran past several palm trees and over the rocky beach to the water. Nothing, no one was there. "Where could he be?" asked Miya. She had always been able to find her brother when they had one of their fights. Slowly, Miya started back for the path that would take her home....Then she heard him. (Did you find Miya's brother? Try looking in the trees!)

The Nerve of him, Hiya was singing. ''Here I am scared for him and he is having a good time'' thought Miya. ''Hiya, why are you singing when I have been worried sick about you?'' demanded Miya. "Uh Oh, you weren't supporsed to find me'' cried Hiya. He had been hiding from Miya all day and now she had found him. ''Miya, I have been hiding all day so I wouldn't slip and tell you about our surprise party tonight and now you have ruined everything!'' complained Hiya. Oh no, now he had done it, he ended slipping after all and telling the secret!

''What party!'' demanded Miya. ''The party everyone is planning to surprise you with tonight....a feast in your honor!'' said Hiya. ''My honor'', ''what did I do?'' Miya asked sheepishly. Now she was really feeling bad about the way she had acted earlier. ''A party to show you how much we appreciate all the little things you always do for everyone'' replied Hiya. ''Ugh! I really don't deserve one after the way I acted today. I am so sorry Hiya. You are my brother and I love you. In the future, we will talk out all our problems and I will not send you away!'' Miya told her brother. Hiya was so relieved his twin was no longer angry with him and gave her a big hug.

Later that evening, the whole village turned out to honor Miya for helping with the village kids and running errands for everyone. It turned out to be a wonderful day after all!
