Halloween isn't the same as it was when I was a kid. You kids have to take precautions now. You can still have fun, just be ''street-wise'' and careful!
- Wear bright colors, or at least something that shines. Cars can't see you like you see them. Create your own costume and use ''glow in the dark'' fabric on at least the shirt or bottoms.
- Have an older person go with you....but first make them dress up so they ''blend in'' and let loose a little
- If you can find a cooperative older person, stay in a group of kids and don't loose anyone out of the group, or be mean to one of them and leave them behind....they need safety too!
- Take all your candy home for mom and/or dad to check out...and share with them, they are performing a service for you.
- If you really have to eat candy on the go, grab a handfull from home and munch on that, it is safe candy.
- Is there someone in your neighborhood that is ''really wierd''? then don't go to their home....better safe than sorry.
- And, a courtesy tip, say thank you and don't grab handfulls, you want everyone to have fun.
- Don't go into any house for any reason if you do not know the person very good...and then only with a bunch of friends or that dressed up older person!
- Let your parents know exactly which way you are going and exactly where you are going. Do not go off by yourself to explore or if someone calls you to a car, you yell ''NO'' and find a bunch of people to trick or treat with...or take you home.
