I so enjoy the Holidays and love decorating for them. Making the house all scary for the kids is more of a treat for me.
I have some nifty ideas for decorating and I will be sharing those ideas with you.
- I buy the cheap plastic bats, spiders, pumpins, bugs, mice, snakes....usually you can find great deals with coupons at the variety or drug stores.
- Hang the bats from the eves right at the front door by fishing line. Hang them so they are low enough to ''bump'' unsuspecting kids on the noodle. Or, better yet, have a big spider or bat on fishing line and have someone yanking it up and down as the kids come up.
- It's fun to dress up like a ''stuffed dummy'' with oversized clothes stuffed with paper and a entire head mask, huge hat and sit in a comfy chair by the front door.
- Then put a large bowl of candy in your lap with a sign saying ''please take one''. The kids would come trotting up , thinking it was a dummy sitting in the chair and I would jump up and chase them.....they loved it.
- For this one night, I bought cheap flashlights and put them in the plastic pumpkins.
- I take sheets and pull them up in the center and stuff a head size portion with newpapers and then tie them off and hang them up.
- We always have the spookey music going. Record a short bought tape over and over onto a longer tape and you won't have to keep jumping up to change it.
- These ideas are great for parties and school too!
- Always spread the ''webs'' from house eves to trees to bushes, but do it so they are very fine and not bunched. Then place the spiders throughout.
I hope that gives you some ideas and you have a safe Halloween.
