Joey and Matt were the best of friends though they lived in different watermelon patches. Both young mice had computers and telephones...and that meant lots of emails back and forth. The next day, Matt was going to visit his best friend in Melonville. Matt knew he should be excited, but he was very worried about his good friend, Joey.

Since they were best friends, the young mice talked about everything and Joey had told Matt that he had a new friend named Andrew. That worried Matt who also realized he was jealous that Joey had a new friend. ''What if Joey makes Andrew his best friend?'' thought Matt. Matt could not stand the thought that Joey would find a new best friend, someone who would live closer to Joey. Matt already knew he did not like Joey's new friend and he would have to straighten it all out tomorrow when he visited Joey.

Early the next morning Matt had arrived at Joey's house, but no one answered the door. Now Matt was really worried, ''Where is Joey'', grumbled Matt. ''I come here to visit him and he is not even home waiting for me''. Matt was thinking that Joey was probably off playing with Andrew and that just irritated Matt. So,he decided he would try to find Joey. He would start at the lake, their favorite place to play on hot summer days.

Sure enough, there was Joey, sitting on the bank of the lake. Joey was excited to see Matt and told Matt that he couldn't wait till they could play with Andrew. ''Why do we need to play with Andrew?'' asked Matt. ''We never needed anyone else to play with before''.

Well, Joey did not like that, he had been so excited about Matt getting to meet Andrew. ''Why can't we all play together and be friends?'' asked Joey.

Before Matt could answer Joey, the lake water started moving and suddenly a big green monster popped his head out of the lake. ''It's one of those disgusting sea monsters'' cried Matt as he started walking away. ''No wait'' yelled Joey, ''it's only my friend, Andrew''. Well, that stopped Matt in his tracks. Matt just stared as the green sea monster rose out of the lake. Joey just stood there waiting for the monster. Finally, Joey said, ''Matt, I would like you to meet Andrew''.

''Andrew'', whispered Matt, ''is a sea monster, a green sea monster". Joey didn't say anything, just waited for Matt to finish working out his feelings. (hint: run your mouse over Joey, Matt and Andrew) ''I know this is strange'', mumbled Matt, ''but I think that green thing is smiling at me''. It wasn't long before Matt, Joey and a very green Andrew were playing in the water together, laughing and splashing each other. Later, after Andrew went back to his home in the lake, Matt appoligized to Joey and told him how jealous he had been. ''You know, I learned a lesson today'', said a very tired Matt. ''You can have more than one best friend and I don't have to be jealous''. ''In fact, I had a great time with Andrew. I didn't think a sea monster would be so much like us, but he was. He liked to play and have fun...and was very nice. I am going to try and make friends with all types of kids and not just mice kids from now on. Besides, the more friends we have, the more fun we can have!''.
